Valter Lourenço is Managing Director, Head of Private Fixed Income Portfolio Management for SLC Management. With the support of his team, he is responsible for the oversight of the portfolio strategy and investment execution across SLC Management’s private fixed income mandates which include both investment-grade and below-investment-grade credits.
Valter has been with the organization since 2016 and has over 20 years of experience in structuring and financing PFI transactions. He specializes in core and core-plus infrastructure financings across the transportation, digital infrastructure, energy and social infrastructure sectors in North America and Europe.
Prior to joining SLC, Valter held roles at Rabobank, Société Générale, CIT and WestLB in Canada, where he structured and financed complex transactions across project finance, corporate finance, asset-based lending and commodity finance. His experience spans both developed and emerging markets and covered a wide range of sectors including mining, energy and diversified industries. Earlier in his career, he worked at KPMG (Germany) and the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe (Germany) before relocating to Canada in 2007.
Valter holds a Diplom-Kaufmann from the Cologne University of Applied Sciences (Germany). He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the Toronto CFA Society.
