SLC Management is a global institutional asset manager that provides innovative and diversified solutions to meet our clients’ evolving needs. Our history of organic and strategic growth reflects this commitment.
Sun Life Investment Management, now SLC Management, began in 2014 when our parent company Sun Life created Sun Life Institutional Investments (Canada) Inc., to offer a range of institutional alternative asset class funds and liability-driven investing strategies to institutional investors in Canada.
Our reach and capabilities grew with the acquisitions in 2015 of Bentall Kennedy Group in North America, and Prime Advisors, Inc.® and Ryan Labs Asset Management Inc. in the United States. And we capped 2018 with our intention to acquire a majority interest in global real estate investment firm GreenOak Real Estate.
In June 2019, we launched our new brand SLC Management and fully merged our fixed income businesses, Ryan Labs Asset Management Inc. and Prime Advisors, Inc. with Sun Life Capital Management (U.S.) LLC on December 31, 2019. In July 2019, we completed the merger of our real estate division under the name BentallGreenOak Real Estate.
On July 1, 2020 our capabilities expanded again with the completion of the majority stake acquisition of InfraRed Capital Partners (InfraRed), a UK based global infrastructure manager. This transaction provides SLC Management clients with a broader range of investment opportunities to help meet their investment needs and advance sustainable investment options.
Our clients have access to a full spectrum of insurance and pension asset management solutions. Today, the combined assets of SLC Management are diversified across public and private fixed income, infrastructure and real estate equity and debt. We are proud to serve pension plans, insurance companies and other institutional investors such as sponsors of foundations and endowments as our clients.
We have offices in major cities across Canada and in the United States, and in Europe and Asia.
