Doug joined the firm in 2001 and became Head of Canadian and U.K. Public Fixed Income in 2007, and in 2014, Doug added Portfolio Manager, Public Fixed Income and Derivatives to his mandate.
Doug has over 30 years of industry experience. In his current role, Doug oversees investment activities in the public fixed income and derivatives markets for Canadian pension asset management clients including the parent company, Sun Life’s General Account portfolios, in Canada, as well as the U.S. and U.K. Doug leads a team of over 45 investment professionals who manage approximately $89 billion of public fixed income assets and over $70 billion notional of derivatives. Doug also oversees the Credit Research team who support the investment teams responsible for Canadian and U.S. insurance and pension asset management.
Prior to joining the firm, Doug advanced through roles at Confederation Life, eventually completing his tenure overseeing the public fixed income trading operations.
Doug holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Concordia University. He is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the Toronto CFA Society.
