David Hamlin is Senior Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer, Fixed Income, for SLC Management. He is responsible for leading the team that assesses SLC Management’s end-to-end business processes for efficiency, client centricity and scale. He takes a holistic lens across the fixed income business and its functional areas, leading key operational and technology decisions that will help enable future growth.
David joined SLC Management in June 2017, and has over 35 years of experience in North American and international research and investment management. In his previous role, David led our public credit research team with the goal of enhancing our coverage model and ensuring connectivity of the credit research function in both North America and Asia, culminating with the integration of a unified corporate credit research team. Prior to this, he was Head of Fixed Income Research at Fidelity Investments, where he was selected to unify and lead a team of over 70 investment fundamentals research professionals. From 2006–2011, David held roles of increasing responsibility as a Managing Director of Research in Fidelity Investments’ U.S. and London offices.
From 1998–2006, David led teams of portfolio managers, traders and analysts in two consecutive Managing Director positions at Putnam Investments.
David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Emory University and a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Delaware. He is also a CFA charterholder.
