Sumbul Ali is Head of Legal for SLC Management. Sumbul also serves as Vice-President and Associate General Counsel of our parent company, Sun Life.
Sumbul leads a team responsible for providing proactive advice, expertise, support and leadership on legal matters to SLC Management. In her current role, Sumbul and her team collaborate with the legal teams across our affiliate companies, supporting BGO, Crescent Capital, InfraRed and AAM.
Prior to joining the firm, Sumbul was a Senior Associate in the Toronto office of Stikeman Elliott LLP, a major Canadian law firm, and the London office of Linklaters LLP, a major international law firm, where her practice focused on banking, financial services and corporate law.
Sumbul holds a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University and a Bachelor of Commerce, with a specialist in finance and major in economics, from the University of Toronto.
